Areas in the pilot
When you submit a request, you choose the area that suits you best:
- Palo Alto / Menlo Park
- Mountain View / Los Altos
- Sunnyvale / Santa Clara
- San Jose
- San Francisco
- Other / flexible — for example Cupertino, Redwood City or another nearby Bay Area community
Choosing an area tells us where you’d like to start; it does not mean a car is waiting there. Exact local availability is confirmed only with an offer.
Why people need a car for a month here
Silicon Valley sees a steady flow of people on work assignments, internships, relocations and extended visits. Many of them arrive before they have a long-term address, credit history or car, and public transit doesn’t reach every office park or neighbourhood. A month-to-month rental bridges that gap without a long commitment.
Commuting in general terms
Much of the region’s driving runs along US‑101, I‑280 and I‑880, between peninsula cities, San Jose and San Francisco. Daily commutes between these areas can add up quickly over a month, so give a realistic mileage estimate in your request — any offer will state its mileage allowance.
Charging availability
Home charging is the easiest option, but many apartments don’t offer it. The area has Tesla Superchargers and other public charging, and some employers provide workplace charging. Tell us whether you can charge at home or work so we can judge fit. Our charging guide explains the options.
Airports and travel
If you are flying into San Francisco (SFO) or San José (SJC), note that we do not currently offer airport pickup. Handover arrangements are agreed with each matched vehicle, so plan to reach your first address another way unless an offer says otherwise.
